PKB About 'Presiden AHY' Joke: Just President Prabowo’s Part of a Projection

PKB Deputy Chairman Jazilul Fawaid responded to President Prabowo Subianto’s statement suggesting that Democratic Party Chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) could potentially become a future leader of Indonesia. Jazilul clarified that the remark was made in a joking context.

“Oh no, not 2029, he meant the future. I was there, and it was a joke about how the future belongs to these young people who have opportunities, something like that,” Jazilul said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/2/2025).

When asked whether AHY is among the candidates PKB would consider, Jazilul said it’s not the right time to discuss that. He emphasized that their current focus is on supporting Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
